RE: Integrated Care Networks (ICN) Update
In the 2015 Legislative Session, the Alabama Legislature created the Integrated Care Network (ICN) program through ACT 2015-322, which creates an opportunity for Medicaid to provide Long Term Care services in a capitated managed care program. The Agency is currently in the process of gathering information, seeking stakeholder input, and reviewing federal recommendations regarding the design of the ICN program. The design and structure of the ICN program will be outlined and detailed in a concept paper that is being prepared by the Agency. This concept paper will be released for public comment and all stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback regarding the proposed structure of the ICN program.
At this time, no final decisions have been made regarding services, networks, or requirements for participation in the ICN program. Providers will be made aware at the appropriate time of any action they need to take (e.g. signing letters of intent or provider contracts) in order to participate in the ICN program. Please check the ICN page on the Medicaid website at Medicaid.alabama.gov for information on public meetings, requests for input, and an opportunity to provide feedback. If you have any questions please contact ICNinfo@medicaid.alabama.gov
