TO:  All In-State Hospitals

Effective for dates of service October 1, 2014, and thereafter, the Alabama Medicaid Agency will reimburse unlimited inpatient hospital days which have previously been reimbursed through hospital access payments.

As a result of this change, the provider must split bill for services that span September 30, 2014, and October 1, 2014. In other words, all services provided prior to October 1, 2014, must be billed on one claim and the services provided from October 1, 2014, must be billed on a separate claim.
