Special Initiatives

The Alabama Medicaid Agency is continually engaged in a variety of quality, technology and other innovative efforts to improve the quality of care provided to Medicaid recipients.

• Alabama Perinatal Excellence Collaborative - Statewide initiative to improve birth outcomes through the adoption of guidelines and best practices for maternity care
• Integrated Care Network Quality Assurance Committee - Committee to identify objective outcome and quality measures for certain health services

• One Health Record  - Alabama's Health Information Exchange
• Patient Access - Federal incentive program to encourage the adoption of electronic health records
• State Medicaid Health Information Technology Plan -  Federally-required plan outlining activities relative to Medicaid

• Alabama Medicaid Access Monitoring Review Plan - Federally-required plan to monitor access to care and providers
