The Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee was established by state law in 2003 to review and recommend to Medicaid classes of drugs to be included in a mandatory Preferred Drug List. The P&T Committee develops its preferred drug list recommendations by considering the clinical efficacy, safety and cost effectiveness of a product.
Meetings
As the Alabama State of Emergency has been lifted, the November 5, 2025, Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee Meeting will be held in person at the Alabama Medicaid building in Montgomery, Alabama. Voting members must be present to count toward a quorum. A virtual WebEx option will be available on the Medicaid website for the public to attend/observe the meeting. All meetings of this Committee are open to the public.
