RE: NOTICE OF DELAY - January 1, 2025 SNF Per Diem Rates
In accordance with the Alabama Administrative Code, cost reports for the year ended June 30, 2024, are being desk audited, ceilings computed, and per diem rates determined.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the January 1, 2025, per diem rates will be retroactively implemented by February 1, 2025. This will allow providers to continue to file claims and be reimbursed under their current rate until cost report audits are completed and per diem rates calculated.
When the January 1, 2025, rate is implemented, all claims with dates of services January 1, 2025, and after will be reprocessed and paid at the new rate. Reprocessing will be automatic and require no action on the provider’s part.
To assist with budgeting, the following statistics are available:
The current asset value (CAV) index adjustment is 0.5%.
The rate of return on the CAV is 6.01%.
The inflation rate for the operating, direct, and indirect cost centers is 3.20%.
