    TO:  All Providers

Due to budget constraints, the Alabama Medicaid Agency will end enhanced payments to primary care physicians effective for dates of service on or after August 1, 2016.

The payment reductions will impact pediatricians, family physicians, internists, general practitioners and certain other qualifying practitioners who previously qualified for the enhanced payments.

The change affects payments for certain primary care services and for vaccine administration services under the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program.
