ATTENTION:  Alabama Medicaid Recipients 

Alabama Medicaid will be doing system maintenance starting tonight at 6pm and lasting through Monday at 6am.

Here’s what you can do to be ready:

• Carry your Medicaid card with you as proof of coverage.

• Check your prescriptions today and refill any medications you may need over the weekend.

• If your doctor or pharmacy asks you to pay at the time of service, you can request reimbursement from the provider once Medicaid has paid the claim. 

You can still apply for Medicaid online anytime during the maintenance period.

• Telephone service assistance programs- Information about Lifeline and Link-up
• Do You Qualify for Other Government Benefit Programs? - Link to confidential online screening tool on GovBenefits.gov
• Spay/Neuter License Plate Surgery Programs - Information about the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association's low-cost spay and neuter program for pets of Medicaid recipients. Alabama Medicaid does not operate this program.

• Alabama Long-Term Care Partnership Program - Program to help Alabama citizens protect assets
• HealthInsurance.Org/Alabama - Website to help Alabama consumers learn more about health insurance and the variety of plans available in the state
• Alabama Family Trust - Created by the Alabama state legislature in 1994, this non-profit organization assists families with mentally and physically disabled loved ones to plan for long term care.
